Dr. Marcinkevics Psychology

For most of us, we know many of the choices we would want to make in life. We would choose connection over loneliness, purpose and meaning opposed to aimlessness, passing on your worth over feeling worthless, and happiness over sadness.

The problem, suggested by Ed Mylett, author of The Power of One More, is that we believe these goals are further away than they actually are. Since we tend to hold these outcomes so far away in our mind, we struggle to act and move through our life towards them. Instead, we become accustomed to complacency, to being stuck right where we are.

Ed Mylett asks, “What if that is the great lie of life?” What if you are only one moment away? What if you are one thought, one action, one conversation, or one meaningful relationship away from your goal?”

I believe good therapy can be the catalyst for such change, through exploring new perspectives, challenging unhelpful thoughts, addressing stuck emotions, and promoting adaptive behaviours.

Starting therapy can be daunting, but it can also be the catalyst for meaningful change.

Finding the right psychologist, someone you can create a meaningful working relationship with, is essential to therapy. I hope to make you feel welcome and supported while exploring challenging areas in your life to find real solutions. Everyone has the potential to live a happy, healthy life. Support from a psychologist can be the missing step toward improving mental health and meeting personal goals. I approach therapy with optimism, understanding that while difficulties and setbacks are inevitable, with the right support, everyone can develop the skills needed to navigate challenges and achieve a more fulfilling life.
